Activities

Fishing: The bounty of ocean provides for excellent fishing opportunities from rock-angling, salt-water fly-fishing to deep-sea game fishing. Sheltered launches, multiple reefs and a plethora of aquatic life makes this a hot spot.

Snorkelling: Slip on your mask and dip below the surface of the aquamarine waters in the sheltered bay to explore a world coloured with tropical fish and rocky reefs.

Quad Biking: With its climate, turquoise blue seas and breath taking scenery, Mozambique is the ultimate destination to do a little exploring on four wheels. Easy quad trails, to the full throttle sanddune challenge, provides something for all.

Photography: The untouched escape allows for a photographers paradise, from the big blue to the bush and the nearby village.

Taste Experiences: Dappled with a few local restaurants, it’s a must to try the spicy taste of the ex-Portuguese colony. Peri-peri chicken, local prawns and oysters are a must-have to ensure the full Mozambique experience.

Local favourates to quench the thirst under the hot sun include 2M beer and the  infamous  R&R (the local Tipo Tinto Rum and Sparberry drink),  a drink not to be underestimated. Finish any long hot day with a traditional ruby red catembe.

Swimming: the rock reefs create a safe flat “pool” during low tide and the breakers during high tide allow for body surfing . The Blow Hole attraction a few kilometres down the beach road, provides a unique and scenic experience.

The Beaches: Post card-like beaches – miles of white pristine unspoilt white sand. Outside is best as the activities will keep you busy -even after sunset. Some days the beaches are deserted, allowing you to take a well-deserved siesta under a mandatory shady gazebo.

Trip into Xai-Xai: the vibrant town provides a true local market with fresh produce, as well as most supplies one could imagine from plumbing material to colourful clothing. The new modern stores include fully stocked Shoprite and even a KFC, to name a few. Freshly baked Portuguese bread can be smelt throughout the streets.
